2nd of the 2 written posts never posted!

So here is another one of the writings I missed to post. This was when I was in Madrid, leaving to Barcelona, and off to through France and into Italy.

Sitting in the Puerta de Atocha train station and it was a little frustrating that I missed the train that I wanted to take. I have an hour to wait but I would have preferred to have taken the 830 train instead of the 930. The 930 gets me to Barcelona at 12:48 which is a little stressing because then I have another train to FRANCE (Nice), which leaves at 13:00. Yeah now you can see the thing that I have to put myself through, haha! But you know in the long run, it’s all gravy. … I just had a little moment of thought about Maria and the gals: Ana, Marina, and Abu, all have a place in my heart.  I remember the day I left Huahine, what pain that was. And here I am doing it again. ….. This train is moving really fast, hence then calling it the speed train…. So because I actually spent my last night in Leon in the bar, I probably should have not had that last beer…. Although I successfully made it to my train going in to France.  I’m still quite unsure about how this is going to go but I think I’ll be fine so far. Other than the places I want to visit as a tourist, there is also the language. I feel though that France is a little more prepared than Spain was. Well I can’t lie, Spain was a little accommodating with English, but hopefully I can find if not better, nor the same but somewhat accommodating. It is now 2 minutes before departure to France. And oh yeah not to mention that I do not have a reservation at a hostel. I’m going to hope for the best to make sure that the hostel is still vacant. So, until we meet again in about over a week, GOODBYE SPAIN, and HELLO FRANCE.

OLD BLOG DAY 1

So, I was cleaning out my mini laptop baby, and I found two documents that had a little writing on my first couple of days traveling. I never realized I would of found myself traveling on my own. I still find it amazing that I went through the whole thing on my own. You know, I sort of make myself cry, because it is such an experience I can take with me and one day either relive it again, or tell it to my family/kids in the future to inspire them to do such activities also, and see the world. Anyway here it is...

Seatac Airport.
I remember I used to work here. Borders bookstore in the main concord. Anyway I am sitting in the North part of the airport. My gate is N16 and it was right in front of escalator if you take the train thing…. Which I also remember taking when flying out to the Philippines. Hm… I didn’t think I would feel the way I did…. Completely different from when I left for Tahiti. The relieve that you know you are traveling with people you know, takes the less steep hill whereas when you travel alone, you fall off the cliff. Hey I wanted to tell the experience also about mobile boarding pass… at first it was complicated because everyone else has the paper passes but maybe like 2 or 3 people are holding their phone… HEY if you have a smartphone check into United’s mobile boarding pass. Save the Trees!

Being that my flight from SeaTac to Washington Dulles was soooooo early, I slept through my flight maybe 3 hours of the total 4. But that window seat was cool for that one hour that I was awake. Have you ever looked out the window and just stared at the wings? It’s interesting because landing a portion of the wing goes down and then another goes up…. I wonder what the effect of those do.

This is bits and pieces of my first day, I’m sure the regularity of these posts will come along especially when I get to Leon, Spain. Getting off the plane this morning, felt like everything was closed, and the sun was still down, and my body wanted to be tired but my eyes were wide open. The gate that we landed at wasn’t a part of the main building, so there were buses shuttling from the plane to the building, where baggage claim was right there. (Well, right after the stamping passport and taking of that paper…) And then I even counted about 20 mins for the luggage carousel to begin distributing luggage.
My first goal was to find the Metro station/ place, which wasn’t that hard considering that there are signs leading me to it. I do have to say though that baggage claim is so far from the Metro station. It’s like arriving at SeaTac, getting dropped off at the first sign and walking across to the last sign and then back. Or maybe it just felt like that. So getting to Metro was not hard, but what was, was the obtaining the ticket to take the Metro. Yeah, all I have to say is avoid using machines.. (confuzziled..!!) Anyway taking the subway wasn’t hard either other than the difference of if you want your door open or not. Assuming it would be like the Sound Transit, which the doors would automatically open, WRONG! It’s either a button, or a like a latch. Following others’ as if they were first, is probably the best to go.  Yeah, so I figured out how to get to Plaza del Sol; easy!! Next goal: finding my hostel. My hostel, if you didn’t already know was called RC Miguel Angel. Don’t really know what the RC really stands for but finding this place was maybe 5 times more complicated than finding the Metro station at the airport. But I don’t blame myself too much because the sign that I assume would say Hostel Miguel Angel, or something of that sort, didn’t actually. This was the sign: Hostel something else… okay, maybe it didn’t really say something else.. it just wasn’t what I expected it to be. So finding it, being let it. Then once I thought it would be all comforting that I am somewhere where I can relax, yeah no lost again. (Don’t comment on the “yeah no” part because if I were really saying it, it wouldn’t be so weird sounding. ) Another assumption: failed.  You know a friend told me, “Assuming is the worst mistake anyone can make.” I thought there would be a front desk to be greeted; it was just a hallway leading to some stairs where the lights were off.  Something which is a little along the lines of some advice a co-worker gave me, “If you feel like the situation is bad, then run.” That went somewhere in the story of how she knew Amanda Knox, yeah you probably know what those intentions are. Anyway I figured the light switch and found an elevator without labels, just floor numbers. Lucky enough I put two and two together to get that the 4th floor which was the button to get buzzed in. Although I didn’t realize all this until I walked a flight up, which isn’t too bad, just a pre-build of my leg muscles.
Coming to the front desk, it was a little hard knowing that I would need to kick in some Spanish but lucky break again that the front desk guy spoke a little English. Check-in not until 1pm officially, but I am welcome to leave my luggage in the storage until then.
Walking back to the Plaza del Sol, I had to chance to take out my camera and begin the record for pictures on a three month study program. I also remembered that I would walk over the Oficia de Tourisma in the Plaza del Mayor. At first Plaza del Mayor was dead with the exceptions of the early walkers. And it wasn’t until I walked around the same block maybe about 2-3 times, had the center start to fill. Outside seating, characters dressed and stores/restaurants opening. There was a dressed Minny Mouse there, don’t know exactly why but she was there. Massive bubbles blown, like bubbles from Spongebob. Speaking of Spongebob, there was a dressed him in the Plaza del Sol later on, when I tried to find the hostel back again. After actually finding the Tourism Office, they had WiFi, so I sent out some emails, check my inbox and whatever else I could while on it, except for post this. (If you must know, I’m currently sitting in a Starbucks looking over Calle Arenal, actually two stores away from my hostel.) After marking my map with destination that I should visit, I make my way somewhere and actually get lost. I stumble across a church, which I cannot provide pictures for because it wasn’t allowed but oohh!
The amazing features and the built; it was about half a block big. Structure almost reminded me of St. James. I actually didn’t know it was open to go inside because the doors were closed but god watches over because a lady instructed me if I would like to go inside.  If you have ever been to St. James, the great doors on the west side of the building are amazing with design. These great doors weren’t open, and although un-designed, they were massive. I would love to see them open, giving light inside the building. Each part of the church had these coin machines hooked up to candles that would light if you donated a little. But I’ll find out the name of this church….. later.
I ended up at the Plaza de Sta. Ana which also neighbors Teatro Español. I knew I wasn’t going to see a showing, but I didn’t catch what they were playing. BTW I also found a cine too. (Don’t really remember where that is either.)
So finally waiting the last 20 mins to check-in at Starbucks next door. Thinking about my next move, but all I know so far is SLEEP and change shoes…. My poor flats were beneficial at the airport, but all this walking and also Madrid cries on my first day, didn’t treat my flats too well. I love these zebra flats too. They’re not too damaged; hopefully I can help it later.  Should I buy gifts now from Madrid, or wait last min = Friday??
Who loves shopping?! I love shopping! Oh yeah, but money saving too….

Figueres + Chambery + Modane

Just to make a little things better, I'm just going to mash up some of the blogs that I intended to be separate... =)

ONE : Figueres, Spain

What a beautiful little town… for a second I thought this was the most Northeastern, populated city. And I actually might be true but there is one more city on the map, visually, that is literally on the coast next to the border. Anyway I stopped here in Figueres and freaked out because I was supposed to catch another train, but I didn’t glance to the clock, so I missed it. Well it was more like I walked up to the ticket counter and said I wanted to go to the next town…. Forgot city name… somewhere in France, and make it to Nice by tomorrow night, but that didn’t happened and had to reschedule the whole trip. Now at first, I almost cried… because the town looked to deserted at the time… and I freaked out again because I didn’t know what to do. So I put my Spanish skills to test and tried to find another route, and get a taxi, in which I both was successful at. YAY ME! But anyway, I got to Hotel Ramble, which was right in the middle of town. And the room I rented was quite full to what I expected. Pretty much receiving more than intended… which is a good thing!! Anyway I had time to venture out a little and had something for dinner that quite surprised me after I researched what it was…. I also took a picture.. haha *drum roll* It was CUTTLEFISH! El camarero dijo que es como calamari. And I believed it, because it looked and tasted like it, FOR CHEAP! Haha well that was a typical dish de España, good dish! Catching the next train at 11 wasn’t bad because I didn’t have to rush in any way.

I’d have to say that I learned that this town is way more important than I thought. The artist Salvador Dali was actually born and raised in this town/ city. And there was even a museum / gallery of his work. I didn’t actually get to go inside but it was quite interesting enough from the outside. In this museum that I’ve read, not only was it Dali’s work, but his wife’s as well. So it really was the Dali museum. Figueres also had a few more museums that were interesting: Figuere’s Museum of Toys of Cataluña, and another modern art, that I forgot the name to. But I walked around and also found the cathedral, which was all in seconds from the Dali museum and others, especially my hotel. So it was enough time, to be in and out to see what I expected. Well I actually did want to enter the Dali building but the timing was off. But like I said it was just enough to be standing outside that building….”whew!!!” is all I have to say about that.

Anyway off to France in the morning, Happy Birthday to me. =)
========================================================================

TWO: Chambery, France

This town… I have to stop saying town, because these are all cities. But Chambery was something interesting for me. I had originally planned to just pass through here, but I had to spend the night in. I wished I walked around but my first impression of this city was a little too errg…! *worried face* But anyway I walked to find something cheap, something more like a hostel but then, the bike dude, the dude that worked at a bike shop right outside the train station, told me a place that did not exist, or at least was not in the spot that he had said, and then I even walked around, but I felt like not walking in circles, hence I took note on my way to “this hostel”, some cheap hotels. And what I ended up doing was walking to “this hostel” and then walked in a very big circle around town to this hotel I saw right across the street from the train station, in which I am grateful to have chosen because I actually didn’t sleep well last night, and woke up a little later than expected. But anyway the town was a little unsafe feeling. I walked down a street where the buses stop and whatnot, and it just had a vibe of uh oh! It was completely bad; I just have to say that I didn’t like it. I mean maybe it was the people, but the city physically was beautiful. There were also streets that were only for walking and no cars, probably the exceptional but at the time, there weren’t any and on the map there were a little grayer. Anyway another factor of uncertainty was as I walked back to the hotel that I first seen,  I walked by a park which had a skate park within it and I saw a couple of guys out of the peripheral of my eyes, who were having an argument(?). And so out of my own safety, I kept walking and made sure I wasn’t followed etc. etc. And as I pass them, I hear the sound of like fist-face, some kine of skin interaction. Of course I didn’t turn around or even glance back… I kept walking, if I didn’t walk even faster. Because I know when fights break out, people run, or people have things that they really shouldn’t. Anyway I got to my room, and tried to get online to call my people,… haha my family… and you know you shouldn’t always trust things when they say free…. Because things in life are never free… so really I just bummed off someone’s wifi. It worked, so erg yeah, now It’s about 7:44am on the 10th, the day after my birthday and off to my destination hopefully I can make it. This time, I have two options: one to Roma, and one to Venezia. This will work!
Okay, until next time. =)

=======================================================================

THREE : Modane, France

Just somewhere I missed my bus at... haha so I spent a little while here... I actually started my barcelets in this town.. I even have the tags that say made in France.. LOL anyway yeah I walked and many things weren't open when I was originally waiting and then I saw a sew store.. and picked up a few colors to put my knowledge to the test... and how easy it is... haha So instead of buying many gifts... I have MADE gifts... anyway! I walked around for a little and found out that I walked to the next city.. which is borderline next to each other... wierd... and I didn't find that out until I was walking back to the train station...hmmm? who knows.. anyway it was amazing to be in the mountains in France... that's kinda what it was... check out the PICTURES and you can see... anyway this was the town that I changed my plans too... I had originally set my mind to go to Rome, but then I missed my bus and ended up going to Milan and then off the Venice... COOL BEANS though!!!! Yeah so here's that LINK AGAIN!

NEED TO CATCH UP, HUH??

So just check out the past few blogs cause I post them right after the other.... man am I so behind with these... haha well here are a few miscellaneous pictures that I went through facebook and got from others of me.... hope you like them and sort of see what my classmates have been seeing of me too....

HERE HERE HERE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also check out pictures from CANTANBRIA... it was our program's last excursion and it was amazing there! Also it completed me when I went into the Cantabrio Sea... So I've been in the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean and the Cantrabrio Sea, all of which surround Spain. Success!

BARCELONA/ CATALUÑA + San Marcos in Leon

The weekend after our trip to Galecia, about half the class went to Barcelona to view the city as well there. We did tons of walking, and on the last day Alyce and I had to rest, we took the whole Sunday afternoon to nap and rest our legs. But we took two tours, one was of Gaudi’s work in Barcelona. If you do not know who Gaudi is, he is an architect who was a perfectionist. He was also a…. uhhhh what’s the word for rioter, not the violent kine but the one from the rights… etc etc. Anyway he did a lot of that. But his buildings were beautiful. AMAZING as well. The church, Sangre Familia, (I belief I spelled that wrong) was an OMG! It is magnificently desgined, tediously detailed, and completely WOW! It is stilli in construction, but it is definitely going to turn out amazing, and even more amazing than it already is now. The Cathedral of Barcelona, which isn’t the Sangre Familia, is also in construction was just as amazing in its own way. Oh well…. The other tour was just of the neighborhood, a little history here and there, and what history Barcelona has a part of Cataluña. I can tell you stories if you point out which pictures… but there is too much to describe at the moment.

Aside of site looking, Ms Jane Frazee took me to the Primavera Sound 2011. Along with Paul Matheson, who had bought his own ticket, enjoyed some music Saturday evening and night. What a night! We wanted to be WOW, and wear body paint, which can I say is HARD to remove after letting it sit on you. *sad face* but anyway I found a new idol, Merril from TuNe YaRdS… her vibes and inspiration pushes me to DREAM BIG, and EVEN BIGGER!... Anyway I also got to meet Skye, I think this is how to spell his name, but he is a part of Fleet Foxes. They were awesome too, playing up there on stage. Skye is a friend of Jane’s, hence her bringing me for free. Anyway we left Thursday after class before the weekend, stayed over the weekend, and came back Monday, just in time for cooking class.

I heart Barcelona. Creo que Barcelona es más major como Madrid. <3
======================================================================

Mini part-blog about San Marcos, if I had already written about this in a previous blog… OOPS but oh well here it goes again, this excursion to San Marcos was on the Thursday before Galicia, I believe. Anyway really quickly since this was way back in the day was highly interesting, but only because I have a high tolerance for churches. I base this off of the other student’s complaining about another church, another museum, another cathedral… etc etc. But not only was this church one of the museums of Leon, but also a hotel. I maybe even the most oldest in Leon, possibly, not quite sure about that one, but the church has its differences than the actually cathedral of Leon. Apart of this excursion, we also visited the contemporary art museum of Leon.  This museum was a little out of my interest but then again, quite different. This is because the art was very hmmmmm….? There were different sections for different types, and regions I guess… Like the influences from the Middle East, so there were Arab exhibits… etc etc. Yeah so I mean we just left a little early and return back to our normal Leon lives… LOL.

CURSO DE COCINA

I’ve had this class, along with everyone else in my program, this cooking course. I loved it soo much because the dieta de España is somewhat healthy, something way better than in the states.  Anyway our cooking master was Montsy…. I think that’s how to spell her name but then again that’s just how I say it, so yeah she was so smooth with all her actions. Like peeling a potato was so easy looking… and it was without a peeler, just a knife, which I know how to but not that easy. Anyway I did actually learn a few things in the kitchen. I can say we didn’t participate in class much because of our time limit and with only one kitchen set, we mostly observed what she was doing and just took notes or watched. I was very surprised in the end when we received a certificate of completion AND what the most amazing part was the USB with all the recipes AND more than what we had cooked in class. I think I may take up a new hobby. It may be a beginning of something REALLY NEW AND AMAZING.. Anyway that class became dull after a few weeks.. well just in the ending classes that it became a little hard because there weren’t dishes that could be cooked within our two hour limit, so we went over those easy kines and then again. They were good every time, but it was just that I would have preferred to have done new and complicated things. (Maybe.)  Anyway in conclusion, I in overall learned more than actually intended…. Not only in cooking class did I learn how to peel more effectively but in Spain in general, because Abu, my Spanish grandma, scolded me a little about peeling this one apple. Haha she more laughed at me trying. Anyway I will be home soon to be doing these same skills I’ve learned.

YEAAAHHH!! So check out some of the picture....CLICK HERE.

WAYY BEHIND.... Galicia*

So this is really a remake of the previous post only because I felt like my video which doesn't play wasn't sufficient enough to accompany my pictures... I know lately I've just been putting a little snack with the links to my pictures... I guess I've been lazy but now I think about it, with time running down in Leon, I now feel like I'm in a rush to finish things... Yes I'll admit I waited last minute but I got my schedule down for after the quarter but tonight after I finalize things.... tomorrow our program has one last.... *scratch all that..**

Here's the new Galicia post. =) with pictures...

Galicia was amazing…. This blog is late but it has to happen… So from the beginning we had to pick a partner for the rooms, because it was two to a room which the exception of the boys, since there was only three in the whole group, it required another room with a three girls, so making it our twelve in total. Anyway my roommate was Lauren Potter once again, because she is TOTALLY AWESOME! Anyway, the weekend of Galicia was the weekend following Portugal for Lauren and I.  Galicia was a night in Santiago de Compestela, about two whole days. The first day was a night walk through the town even though most things were closed, it was nice to get a good feel before taking on the city, also the capital of Galicia, with the tourists and locals. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compestela was AMAZING, you know so amazing that I actually miss our own Seattle (puny) one. The intensity of the building and creation is breathtaking. It is a something you must visit kine of thing. The main thing that was really attention grabbing was the HUGE thurible. Now it is quite funny what the story is of why they do this, but then again it may not be true. So the huge thurible, by the way is also called botafubre (which is Giego, the language of Galicia and not in Spanish (castillia)), swings across the longer part of the church across and over everyone’s head, it is sort of scary at first but it happens and everything is fine afterward. But you do see the sparks and whatnot come out, it is kine of interesting. So they tell us that the reason why they do this, irrelevant to the Catholicism beliefs, but because people, and I think they pointed out the pilgrims back in the day, were people of odor, and hence doing the HUGE thurible/incense. But there is also the reason why the religion does it in the first place. Anyway moving on through Galicia. After the first night we packed up to go to La Coruña. La Coruña is a city on the Altantic coast and is also a province of Galecia.  Now when we arrived, it was really bad timing of the coordinators for this because as we pulled up to the city, the street we needed to go to was CLOSED. Bam bam bam!! Not for anyway bad if that’s what you’re thinking but because the fútbol team was playing that night, the pride crashed the city just as hard as the waves crashed the beach the city sat on. The streets were closed so that the people can fill them as they prepared to watch the game, which was about two hours til. So with everyone’s luggage pushing through the sea of people covered in blue and white just to get to the hotel. It was a hassle but we got there. I finally got to kind of swim in the Altantic ocean, although even I touched it, Santos yelled at me, “NO!!”… not because he didn’t want me to go swimming, but because he thought I couldn’t make it…. To be swimming home. Haha!! That man is FUNNY!  But yeah so, we went out for a little that night because we already saw the potential of fun crowds… haha of course we were all careful, but we found out they lost and then most people went mopping home. So I think that the potential really died, but we went to see anyway, did nothing and then went home. The next morning, we went to see the torre de Hercules… I think it was about 200 stairs in total for that whole thing…. Never again! Haha it was a beautiful view though at the top. Afterward we had beach time, and then lunch and back to Leon. It was a very eventful weekend. I would definitely come back, oh and did I mention I got to view the lying of the Apostle James. It was very touching for me because St. James is my Cathedral, my home.

ALSO CHECK OUT SOME VIDEOS OF THE HUGE THURIBLE….

Broken Things I have to say GoodBye too...

So I have so many blogs that are in construction and that I really cannot finish at the time... but I do have to get this over with....  I brought with me to Europe this flats that were broken in, and quite confortable than you would expect... I call them my ZEBRA SHOES... well because they are zebra print... and recently I had this belt, very silvery and shiny.... BROKEN. I loved these things.... and now I must say bye to them.... in Europe.

So the zebras used to be white and black... and then they gained some holes on the side and then started talking to me thru its mouth in the front and the belt... kinda like that one symbol, don't really know what I'm referring to but yeah both latches broke entonces, no use as a belt.... oh well!

THANKS for the FASHION STATEMENTS....but it is time to move on...

Oporto, Portugal

So over the weekend (Saturday, 14 to Monday 16) Lauren Potters and I went to Oporto, Portugal for the weekend.... being that this past weekend was the only weekend available to do the trip. In total, we probably spent 150 dollars at most each of us, that included flight, bus, pocket and hostel. Now that's a very good price!!! We enjoyed ourselves throughout the town, and on the beach. This was one city I didn't want to trek everywhere and research what are THE most important buildings etc etc.... So in short, the first day we rested, rode the gondola, took a winery tour and tasting and tried a typical dish to Portugal: Francescinha (spelling is probably wrong...) Sunday.. for practically the whole day we sat, laid out on the beach for about 4-5 hours which was pretty good.... no burns! and went out to a small bar near our hostel with some of the other peoples from the hostel... It was nice because we've met some locals, one from Canada, couple from France... and many others... But anyway yeah then we got up Monday morning and practically traveled all day back to Leon....

It was fun(link for fotos)... want to go back but France and Italy... you guys are next!

Astorga ... to a mini Pueblo

So this post is a little late but I'm still doing it... Last Thursday which was May 12, at about 4pm we took a bus to a pueblo near Leon. We returned about 10-1030pm... so Astorga, a mini pueblo had a museo de chocolate... wasn't amazing.. it was cool to try the different chocolates, but the equipment that was the museo part, was very limited on things and space. But it was cool to have stopped by there anyway... afterward we walked around Astorga. and visited parks streets and their plaza Mayor.... because every town HAS TO HAVE a plaza mayor.... usually they are square but this one is rectangular.... oooooooo  anyway the bus then took us to an even smaller pueblo which was very antiguo.... muy guay!  And then back to Leon... raining... =(

Anyway check out some pictures... =]

Inā

Imagine all the people....

Inā! Imagine!

I wanted to post this video because my life is just a speck of my imagination. Being in Spain, barely touches the mirror of reality. Wanting to go back home to be with family and friends is the stepping stones of this world of imagination. I miss everyone.... mom, dad, bros, lola (both, all!) all the aunties, and uncles..... both blood and all in my life. My Ninongs and Ninangs.... I miss everyone in one way or another....

But this can only really dedicated to one person... my mom. (Hey i tried calling... BTW) But in terms of the US's calendar.... Happy Mother's day.... One can only imagine what or who they would be if it wasn't for their mothers.

So Happy Mother's Day to you mom!... and to all the mothers out there, never think once you are not forgotten... because we are ohana: family: no body is left behind or forgotten.

Salamanca

So yesterday, Saturday (5/7), our program went on a trip to Salamanca. It's like a small town just like Leon. But maybe there was just a little more people.... Here the big part of our visit was the cathedral. And there is actually two. A new one and an old one. And they were built next to each other, so it looks like one really big church, and in fact it really is. The university is also really near, and when I say really near it was a Spanish street away. REALLY BEAUTIFUL! of course. anyway like always there a pictures and you know as the saying goes, a picture tells 1000 words...

After waiting for our group nearing the end of the day, we sat for our bus, I took pictures and a video of a part of the church with the clouds movin' on by.... "It's standing art facing time."

I can elaborate a little more* but for now... Salamanca was cool.

But don't forget the FOTOS.

Visitas a Casa Botines(Gaudí)

So on the 3rd of May which was yesterday.... wow my days are pretty gone... Santos (the greatest...so he calls himself, LOL) set our group only with a visit to Casa Botines. Gaudí if you didn't know is a famous architect. And he did this building.... This building is like the used to Washington Mutal Tower in downtown Seattle. The main place!! It is the home of Caja España, which is the main bank of Spain. They are everywhere just like in the states and how McDonalds and Starbucks are on every corner.. yeah exactly the same amount.

The tour wasn't completely in depth, but it was amazing to enter rooms that are usually closed off the to public. If I understand correctly, the bottom floor was a cloth store, first floor as the lobby, main services and everything upward is either offices or conference rooms. In particular, the conference room we visited was proabbly the main and really big one. Every Thursday, in the shown room there is a meeting with the president of Caja España. The carpet was handmade and the light piece was very intricate.

That was practically it for the mini visit to the Casa Botines. I'll think of it as that not very many people have gone where I've gone.

Visitas a la Catedral

We had an visit to the Cathedral of Leon... as you can see in many of my past picutures already.. But we had a chance to go up on the platform which is a different view than others. It was quite amazing.. check out my photos..

FUN FACT: the height from the floor to the top is about 30 meters.

Marina, the Oldest (of the two.)

Marina is a very interesting person. She is 11 years.. no wait she just had a birthday, so she is NOW 12 years old... Yeah she loves dancing and it is pretty hilarious because everytime the honey pops or in spanish miel pops commercial comes on, she has this dance either she or her friends have choreographed to the commercial... I laugh but it's not that she's a bad dancer but because she just breaks out in dance once it comes on lol....

I feel what the kids are learning here are so intense... so in terms of her homework, she has language: Ingles, Math, History... the basics... and then she plays the piano... and I'll get a video going of her playing .... Believe me when I say she is good.... Anyway yeah then every weekend.. or almost every weekend she goes with her father to ride horses... and I think it is a class too. So with all that... she is one ambitious girl. What else can I say ..... =)

Mi Casa... Long overdue..

Sorry about this long wait on where I'm living... but here are THE photos, Its pretty awesome here.. but it has been weird because little things were having troubles.. like the sink in the kitchen had a little leak...

And then one of the photo has a caption of "La cocina Americana"... I didn't know this was an american idea but the same room of the kitchen and the dining room... they just call it "the american kitchen"... MUY INTERESANTE....

Anyway WELCOME TO MY CRIB lol...

Amazing...... race

I just watched four episodes of the Amazing Race to chatch up because those four episodes happened while I am away... anyway I can't believe my two of three of my favorite teams got eliminated within these four episodes. ='(

1. Jet and Cord (the Cowboys)
2. Ron and Christina (the Chinese Father-Daugether)

The third team is Flight-TIme and Big Easy (the Globetrotters), but they were close to getting eliminated too...

The amazing race is something I want to do too, but yeah that's a big goal for me. Anyway I also wanted to point out the episode that Margie & Luke got eliminated, I cried... not for them getting eliminated but because of the tasks that they went through...

That tea testing one ...hmm I'd like to try but I would know how it is to easily get frustrated. It was amazing that the people from the task helped a little for Luke to finish. And then when finally he did find the right tea... not only did his mom clap for him but the workers apart of the task too....
Maybe you can find it online..... Anyway here's the table from Wikipedia of who's left.....

** THaNk goodness for the WiFi and the internet so that I could watch this.. =)

Been Since....

So its has been awhile since I've posted yes... for a couple of reasons...

One: I went along with my Spainish family to Valencia, well actually Cullera, which is actually 5-10 min drive away from Valencia.

Two: Once I got back which was about Thursday evening, Semana Santa has already begun, and so I also wanted to catch up with my friends/classmates.

The "Valencia" trip amazing! I mean I can say I've missed the the beach until I went been there and now say I miss the beach now that I'm back in Leon. Uh I did a little message writting through my phone... (I'll add that later... it pretty much has all the details of the trip... well the whole trip in summary...)

Faro Cullera/Valencia
*****HERE are some more PICTURES taken from my iPHONE. =)
check out my video ... lol One is of a stadium like Spain's mini Colosseum, I mean it was built by the Romans...

When I came back... I came back to rain... boo! not only is it rain in general, but because of it, the parades were cancelled. Which is why I only caught two of them. And don't worry there are pictures... If and WHEN you see them, there are amazing! There has been a band practicing out in San Francisco Park for the past month in the evening. And I always wondered why... other than the obvious for school or a club. But I assumed it was for something big because it was the same song, again and again. Turns out it was one of the three or was it four bands apart of the parades/processions for Semana Santa. And one main reasons there were bands is to keep tempo for the people carrying the platforms.. OOOH those platforms are amazing designed and beautiful. I took pictures this morning from the last procession to show how many people actually carry it. And my spanish family actually explained to me that doing it was like a sacrific. And not only did some just carry it, they sacrificed shoes while doing so. *applaud*

I miss you, St. James Cathedral.

So I haven't actually came across time to fully attend a mass here in Leon or anywhere in Spain, except for Easter Vigil, and Easter. Easter Vigil was at 11pm, and although everything was in Spain, I understood because I was prepped so well at St. James. Serving as an Altar Server and an Eucharistic Minister, isn't just something I do during mass but something that is a part of me.

Anyway there are a few photos that are dark but of one light.. that's their Pascua candle. I remember like the fire out front of St. James late at night to light our new candle... I took a close up on it earlier today(Sunday).

I've still need to take my city shots of Leon.

Anyway HERE, HERE and HERE are the links(all the same) to my Semana Santa events. =)
So according to the album, WHEN you look through it all, it goes Thursday's procession/parade... thats the one with the hoods... AND NO ITS NOT THE KKK. although my spanish mom likes to refer to it. (she also like to refer to the Yankees...) but anyway then there are the dark shots, and after reviewing them you can see a few people in the shot... one person being the archbishop of Leon. And then goes into Easter mass. There are more pictures of Easter than there are the Vigil because I didn't want to just keep taking fotos. And ends with the last procession without the hoods... like the big last one! Oh yeah I also took a few sample voice memos via Iphone.... check them out and

HAPPY EASTER!!!
